Bus Fumes

*Chortles gleefully*

It's about time the judge bench-slapped ol' Drew and his attorney. This is not a joking matter, and to allow them both to continously metaphorically spit in the face of the families of Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson is unconscionable.

Don't ask me to feel sorry for that guy. Not gonna happen.

I really do hope there's a special circle in Hell just for people who insist on murdering their families before offing themselves. Here's another example of such a one. Thank goodness two of the kids survived... but can you imagine growing up knowing Daddy killed Mommy and Brother, and tried to off you, too?

Dear Governor Quinn,

Pay attention to this before you start messing around with raising taxes.

That is all.

Dear Candidates Considering a run for election in 2012:

Please wait until 2011 to start the race, would you? The money spent in the last elections was obscene, and starting early wasn't always a benefit. Make it short and sweet. And cost-effective.

Thanks.

Chicago used to be a friendly city. And it still is... except for motorists:
Motorists nabbed by Chicago’s Big Brother network of red-light cameras already get slapped with $100 fines.

If the City Council’s most powerful alderman has his way, they’ll also have to go back to school — at a cost of $25.

Take my advice and take public transportation and taxis if you're coming in for a visit. Between the outrageous parking meter and garage fees and the fact that there's a red-light camera on just about every corner, you can't afford to drive here any more.

Either this is true...
Both Kent and his lawyer, Dick DeGuerin, declined to appear at Wednesday's hearing. A statement from Kent accepted in the record said he was unable to travel to the hearing due to physical and mental problems. [Emphasis mine]
... or this is true...
"Judge Kent and I refuse to be part of the circus," DeGuerin said in the statement, sent by e-mail, calling the hearing an unnecessary spectacle.
And if it's the second, I'd say that's absolutely showing the committee his ass. The guy's got big brass stones, I'll give him that.

Argh, I think that you know how I hate the camera thing out here - plus I don't pay them. Neither do more than half of the tickets issued. It's the law that you must be ticketed by an officer and they don't report to insurance. Three quarters of the money goes to the company running it out here and when they really had a decrease of red light runners in Mesa, the company upped it's share since the city wasn't meeting quota's. Definitely not interested in making the roads safer, just making a killing. Plus, they admitted to the state legislators that the cameras record 24/7, not just at the time of the flash. Scarey. We're becoming Britain!
