Leslie's Omnibus

Drive-Bys

Update: We've got a winner! It's Basil of Basil's Blog. I've sent him an email notification. Congratulations, Basil!

I've re-arranged the order and moved this up to the top, because I really, really, really want to see my comments filled up. El Capitan suggests I offer a prize. You can't have my ashtrays or lighters -- those are going to Buckaroo Bonsai. (He'll quit smoking or not on his own schedule, that's up to him, not me.)

Be the 29th original commenter (and my own comments don't count) and win a $20.00 Potbelly's gift card from me!

(Yes. I'm being optimistic. A girl can hope, can't she?)

Anywhooooo............... It's National De-Lurking Week... which means you are highly encouraged (see challenge above) to drop a line in the comments. Really.

(Keep in mind, I have no Site Meter. Unless you drop a comment, I'll never even know you were here. Unless, of course, you choose to stick a pin in my Frappr! map. That's cool, too.)

I think this is great. I, myself, spent every Wednesday night of my 7th and 8th grade school years learning to waltz, foxtrot, rhumba, polka, Lindy and more at Bobby Rivers School of Dance in Glen Ellyn, IL. On the third Thursday of every month, I was also there to dance with the cadets from Marmion Military Academy. Yes, indeedy. I was an completely (un)abashed geek in Jr. High...

You ought to offer a prize for the Nth commenter.

Hi there! still helping (I hope!) ::waves::

It's getting close, so everyone's getting twitchy because they don't want to be #28.

But I'm all about helping people, so I comment thusly and push things higher :-)

Anonymous said...

Hi! Been lurking here more often recently. What's a Potbelly (other than a pig, of course)?

Richmond said...

TGIF! :)

Moogie said...

Hi there and happy Saturday morning to you!!!!! Hope all is well with you.

Omnibabe said...

Well, if I take the 29th ORIGINAL commenter (not including my own, then I'm six short. If I take the 29th comment, not including my own, then Richmond wins.

Potbelly's is a sandwich shop chain that has consistently good food.

Okay folks... do I take the 29th post, or stick to my guns and wait for the 29th ORIGINAL post?

Delurking here. I would love to learn all the forms of ballroom dancing.

Very nice blog!

Richmond said...

Hang in there, Leslie. You'll get your true #29! :)

Anonymous said...

So hwo many more do you have to get before you post something new? don't make me have to come up there young lady.

Anonymous said...

I'll give this a plug & see if I can get you there.

Ogre said...

I can only count to 10. 11 if I'm naked.

Anonymous said...

I'm strinking a blow for the Anti De-Lurking forces!

Oh, wait....

Anonymous said...

Well, I don't know about unique commentors, but it shows that I'm the 39th comment.... Don't know if that helps at all though.

(And from what I've heard, Ogre can count to 13 when he's naked, if he's being a little creative...)

Anonymous said...

Harvey sent me... too lazy to count how many unique commenters... hope this helps.

Omnibabe said...

2 more originals to go!

TalulaZephyr said...

Always original :) Did I mention modest?

Omnibabe said...

Next original post wins!

Anonymous said...

Too bad I was here earlier.... oh well, next original post wins!

Oh wait, omnibus already said that!

Basil said...

So, who won?

Anonymous said...

Don't think I won, but figured I'd comment anyway. It's psuedo relevant.

You should rent the movie "Mad Hot Ballroom" as it's about middle school dance classes and it follows three schools in a major city through the district competition. Those kids were pretty amazing when I watched it. Ballroom is making a resurgence among the college crowd as well. (My friends and I take lessons and go out almost every weekend.)

Whoohoo! :)
