Leslie's Omnibus

Rubber-Necking

Via the Instapundit, I see that Bruce Schneier, Bill Hobbs and others are just now running into a little problem with taking photographs in public buildings that I ran into three years ago (scroll all the way down) at Ogilvy Transportation Center here in Chicago.

This is all the more loony when you consider that one year later we had this little bit of excitement right there in the self-same train station.

Yup. Cameras are dangerous, all right.

I'm finding this particularly frustrating at the moment, as Ogilvy has won some safety award that's in the form a trophy with a huge brass bell... and they've got it in its own special wood and glass case and lit it up like the gates of Heaven opening wide. I'd love to get a photo of this hilariously ostentatious display, but even with a cell phone camera the conductors and security folks freak out ten ways to Sunday.

I'll find a way around this, just you wait and see.

(Some people can suck the fun right out of just about anything.)
