It's a bad, bad day for firefighters in this town:Two firefighters died after a wall collapsed during a 3-11 alarm fire at an abandoned South Side commercial building this morning, authorities said. Fourteen other firefighters were injured, including two who were trapped with the ones who died.What makes it worse is it comes on the 100th anniversary of the Chicago Union Stockyard Fire.
The firefighters killed were identified as Edward Stringer and Corey Ankum.
God bless all who put themselves on the line for others every single day. Please say a prayer for speedy healing for the wounded, and for comfort to the family, friends and coworkers of each and every one of these brave me.
